A Sterling Lineage - The C C Chokshi Legacy
C C Chokshi Advisors draws inspiration and motivation from the larger than life
persona of Chinubhai Chokshi, the founder and senior partner of C C Chokshi and
Co. Chinubhai was an eminent Chartered Accountant, dedicated patriot and a true
professional. He began his practice in the year 1940. During his lifetime, he made
invaluable contributions to his profession, as well as in the fields of education,
culture, religion and sport. Chinubhai actively participated in the freedom struggle
by being part of the historic Dandi March in 1930 and the Quit India movement. His
dedication to the larger cause of freedom led to his frequent imprisonment and a
break in his career, but he persevered in his quest for freedom from the British
rule.
When he turned his attention once again to his professional pursuits, he led C C
Chokshi and Company to great heights. Chinubhai adorned the highest office in his
profession and he became the President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants
of India in 1959. He also served on the Central Board of the Life Insurance Corporation,
the Company Law Advisory Commission, Indian Merchants Chamber and FICCI. He was
also the Chairman of the Direct Laws Committee known as the Chokshi Committee. He
actively supported equestrian sports and included that same passion for sports and
animals in his family.
